Reflecting on 2008...

As we look to the new season we would like to say a well-deserved THANKYOU to all of those who have supported our club and contributed to its success IN 2008. Whether you were involved in marking the lines of the pitch, helping out in the canteen, cleaning out the club rooms, or helping out at the end of home games to pack away equipment or pick up rubbish - we appreciate the effort each individual has made every week in order to ensure the smooth running of our 2008 season.

Throughout a turbulent season, our first team, following a slow start to the season, were unbeaten in 9 of the final 11 games, whilst our reserve team finished runners up in the league behind Lynwood Colts by a mere 2 points, and were also semi-finalists in the WA Amateur Reserves Cup. Our masters’ team also finished second in their league, behind Heathridge Soccer Club, again by just 2 points, following an epic final game of the season, and our socials team provided much needed support to our first and reserve teams throughout the second half of the season.

No doubt 2009 will bring more success for our club; however the continued support from our players, officials, members, and guests is needed. If you are able to help out your committee next year in any way, please see the form below or contact Ele at

A History of Shamrock Rovers

Shamrock Rovers Soccer Club was founded in 1984. Taking its name from the Dublin-based League of Ireland club, Rovers initially gave Perth’s Irish community a team to call their own, but has since grown into a club for anybody who enjoys their football with passion, enthusiasm, fun and humility. The club is an active and well-respected member of the WA football community and has gained its fair share of supporters, friends and, of course, trophies.
