Reserves vs Ashfield SC

The Reserve team capped off a very good season defeating Ashfield 5-1 on the last day of the season.

With this win under the belt, it meant the reserves finished 2nd in the league 7 points behind Forrestfield United and 11 points clear of 3rd placed Morley Windmills.

A great season again by the reserves backing up the First team.

They also reached the Final of the State League Reserve Cup where they went down to Premier League side and Cup holders ECU Joondalup by the narrowest of margins. With Joondalup scoring the winner in the 90th minute. You can see the video of the game in the video links.

Congratulations to the whole reserve squad and coach Mark Gillians on a fantastic year. Gilly has stepped down from his role as Reserve Coach due to work commitments & Chris Bates the 18's coach steps up to take the reigns for the ressies in 2012.

A special mention to Patrick Byrne who took out the title of leading goal scorer for the 1st Division State Reserve League (27 league only). Think he had another 6 in the cup.
