Ireland vs Macedonia World Cup Final

The Ireland Team have reached the Final Of the Perth Amateur World Cup after defeating El Salvador 2-1 in extra time.

Ireland took the lead 17mins in through Sean Taylor who got in behind the defence after a great through ball from NIck Carroll to set him up for a one on one with the keeper. 1-0 Ireland HT

There wasn't  much seperating the 2 sides as the 2nd half started a real end to end game. With the exception being Luca Boi from El Salvador  the striker causing some problems for the Ireland defence with his jinking runs. The Ireland defence who had only conceeded 3 times in 6 games in the competition managed to keep him at bay.

However loud vocal support from the 200 El Salvador fans kept the spirits lifted and with 15 mins to go El Salvador equalized which sent their fans in to rapture,  running up and down the stadium with their flags, drums and whistles.

Now with the game poised to go to extra time and each team looking for the winner, a real treat for the spectors saw attacks and counter attacks searching for the goal that would see the winning side progress to the final. With 4 mins to go goal sneak CB Alan O'Mahony made his way forward a goal mouth scramble ensued and O'Mahony found himself in the right place at the right time to nod in the what was to be the winner. Ireland 2-1 El-Salvador.
